The 2014 NZ Coffee Awards saw us pick up some great results, particularly validating the effort we put into sourcing high quality single origin coffee.
The big winner was our Ethiopia Table Top Natural Yirgacheffe, Gold Medal and Single Origin category winner. This coffee was air-freighted from Ethiopia with the intention of using it for the World Barista Championships, a bit of lost time in Addis Adaba and a late arrival meant it could not be used for that purpose, but the bonus is that we have been loving this fresh, fruit laden coffee on the brew and espresso bar.
It didn't finish there either, a Silver Medal for our new Costa Rica Las Lajas Perla Negra (Black Pearl) in the Organic category and a Bronze Medal for our very elegant Guatemala Santa Isabel in the Plunger category.
