Building the Workshop

Espresso Workshop was founded in 2007 on the principle of unlocking the flavour potential of specialty coffee, advocating the merits of unique flavour profiles and the promotion of premium single origin coffee.

The goal of Espresso Workshop is to demonstrate that coffee is not just a product but an experience. Coffee obsessed, sometimes fanatical but we reckon that this only inspires us to produce a better coffee.

Based in Falcon Street, Parnell, Auckland, Espresso Workshop’s starting point for producing our small batch roasted coffee is to purchase the best quality beans we can source. We aim to create interest in coffee, in contrast to the institutional coffee options that dominate the café fabric in Auckland. Our Parnell premises is not just a Roastery but we also operate an espresso bar, a extensive retail area and a coffee education space, creating a showroom of coffee and a headquarters for the business.

Since the advent of the Parnell Roastery we have also added a city espresso bar location, in the rejuvenated Britomart precinct (11 Britomart Place at the atrium entrance). Espresso Workshop Britomart aims to cater for both the coffee fanatics of the inner city as well as those that are on the move and want good coffee and food to assimilate seamlessly into their working day. It has been fantastic to witness the development of this waterfront area and we feel priviledged to be an entrenched part of the urban fabric of the Britomart Precinct.
